Professional Profile

 Dr McLaughlin qualified from UCD in 1997 with First Class Honours in Medicine, She trained in both the UK and Ireland. In 2005 she obtained the prestigious HRB Fellowship and continued to be awarded an MD from UCD in 2006. Having fully qualified in Respiratory Medicine. Dr McLaughlin spent two years training in Intensive Care Medicine and became a Fellow of the Joint Faculty of Intensive Care Medicine of Ireland in 2009. Dr McLaughlin was appointed a Consultant in St James’s Hospital in 2009. since her appointment she has published a number of research and clinical papers. In 2019 Dr McLaughlin was appointed Associate Clinical Professor in TCD. Her clinical interests continue in the fields of Tuberculosis, Bronchiectasis and Quality in Healthcare. She was awarded a Diploma in Leadership in Quality in 2019
